Is asparagus an allergen?
Asparagus is not one of the main food allergens. Any new food can cause a reaction the first time it is offered, so give it on its own and stay with your baby while they eat.
Is asparagus good for babies?
Asparagus is exceptionally rich in folate — critical for neural tube development. Also a good source of vitamins K, C, and E, plus prebiotic inulin that feeds beneficial gut bacteria. Its mild earthy flavour is well-tolerated by most babies. Note: urine may smell different after eating — perfectly normal.
